After finishing his onsite refresher course in basic project management with DBT Project Management, David has become really interested to know even more about project management. David knows that he will be required to have 4'500 hours of verifiable project management experience as one of the requirements to be eligible to take the exam for the PMP® (Project Management Professional), so he knows that he will have to wait a couple of years for that.
Some of the more senior project managers in his company, however, have decided to take the PMP® Exam Preparation course with DBT Project Management. David can also attend and immediately prepare himself to take the exam for the CAPM® (Certified Associate in Project Management) from the Project Management Association (PMI®), which he feels will help him do a better job as a new project manager. David has decided to enroll in this course. First, however, he will take a look at the website of DBT Project Management so he knows more about the the course and what is offered.
The certification course from DBT Project Management will give new project managers the material they need to know for the CAPM® exam - plus they will have an opportunity to exchange ideas and learn from more senior project managers in the group who are preparing for the PMP® exam. Some persons don't want to do one of those e-learning courses online where it's hard to really exchange ideas, or to ask questions with the instructor, or to have an interaction with other course participants. They also tend to use words that one has never heard of and don't know the meaning of. So they don't understand much of what is said.
The instructor from DBT Project Management is well-trained and has a lot of project management experience. And you don't have to travel - the course will be given here, onsite, in our offices. The instructor speaks both English and German. The instructor can use either language because some participants understand one language better than the other one, but the written materials are mostly in English.
Why take an instructor-led PMP® / CAPM® Examination Preparation Course from DBT Project Management? is similar to asking the question, Why not study electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture, IT, or medicine online using an e-learning course, or learn by yourself at home on a computer, or better yet, who needs this certificate anyways? The reason should be obvious. Most people want to learn something so they know something and can do something well, so they can hold down a good job, be successful, be promoted, or maybe even be certified as a PMP® or as a CAPM®.
The only thing is that studying anything on the Internet, or on a computer at home can be very hard on a person and can lead to misunderstandings, confusions rebellion or even a dislike of the subject. It is an attempt to try to learn which can cause problems, whereby the person often does not know the vocabulary or nomenclature of the training subject, and cannot easily ask questions or cannot be guided or corrected early by an instructor. What can this cause? Yes, problems! And the PMP® Examination is not the easiest examination in the world, I can assure you.
Passing the PMP® examination can be difficult. Why? There are many reasons for this, but suffice it to say that the examination is difficult because of the large amount of material which is expected to be known. And the way the examination questions are formulated, and the length of the questions, can make them difficult to understand, and difficult to answer.
After the founder of DBT Project Management took and passed the PMP® examination in 2005, he decided to help other persons who wished to obtain this highly-regarded project management certification. Bruce has given numerous PMP® Examination Preparation Courses and enjoys helping people to pass the exam.
The PMP® Project Management Professional certification from PMI® is very broadly recognized throughout the world as the leading global certification of the project management profession. As of the end of 2018, there were over 1'200 persons in Switzerland and over 865'000 persons worldwide certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP®)
Obtaining this project management certificate has numerous advantages, both for the individual and for the organization in which he/she works. The PMP® training course offerred by DBT Project Management - which also includes training for the CAPM® examination - can lead to the project management certification of a client's project managers and team members and can help to improve the results and success of important projects due to the increased project management knowledge they now have at their disposal that can be used.
DBT Project Management has prepared and conducted numerous PMP® Exam Preparation Courses to help company employees in small groups and individuals (tutorial, one-on-one training) to pass the PMP® exam required for PMP® certification. We train (tutor) one person, or a small group of persons. The training courses normally take place at the client's location, or at another suitable location. The normal duration of the course is 35 hours, but it can sometimes take a little longer if you wish. The duration of the training can be adapted to the needs and requirements of the participants.
The primary purpose of this course is to prepare participants to pass the examination necessary for Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification with the Project Management Institute (PMI®).
The secondary purpose of this course is to prepare new project managers, project assistants and team members, or project managers who do not yet have the experience required to be eligible for the PMP® certification, but who wish to obtain the globally-recognized Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) certificate.
The target audiences for this training course are:

The CAPM® certification from PMI® is a certification for new project managers, project team members, or other persons working with projects. It is designed for persons having little or no experience working in or managing projects. Obtaining the CAPM® certification shows others that you understand the principles of project management as outlined in the PMI® publication, "A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)."
The qualifications or requirements to take the CAPM® examination are less severe than the requirements to take the PMP® examination, and are as follows:
Not all, but a significant portion of the questions on the PMP® examination, and all the questions on the CAPM® examination, are based on the information contained in the PMBOK® Guide (A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge), latest Sixth edition of 2017, containing 13 chapters, which are titled:
This is what a person needs to know to pass the CAPM® examination. The PMP® exam is also based, in part, on the above material from the PMBOK® Guide, but is more concerned with the application of this, and other project management principles and information, to solve practical project management situations which the candidate is asked to solve.
