Bruce Turner

I am a native English speaker from the United States and an experienced translator of German texts into English and proofreader of English texts, including general, business, and technical texts, and I provide online English and German training lessons for beginners.

I have lived, studied, and worked for many years in Germany and Switzerland. German is my second language, which I have been speaking, writing, and using for many years. I am a Swiss citizen.

From Michigan Technological University (https://www.mtu.edu/), USA, I received a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, followed by a Master's degree in Aerospace Operations Management from the Graduate School, University of Southern California (https://www.usc.edu/), USA.

In Wiesbaden, Germany, I worked for the US Government as an electronic engineer for high-frequency radio communication systems in Europe. I decided to continue to live, study, and work in Europe, therefore I enrolled at the Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, Germany (https://www.uni-mainz.de/en/) where I studied German, Micro-Economics (Business Administration), Macro-Economics, and Management, and received a Doctor's degree (Dr. rer. pol./PhD). Thereafter, I received a job offer from Switzerland, which I took and then moved to Switzerland.

I have worked in Switzerland as an English translator of business and technical documents written in German, and also as a lecturer (Dozent) for business, management, and project management at Swiss universities of applied sciences ("Fachhochschulen") and at Swiss business and technical schools. I have also worked part-time as a project manager, and as a project management trainer and coach.

Throughout this time, and currently, I work as an independent German-to-English translator and English proofreader for individuals, organizations, and companies, plus online teacher for English and German training lessons for beginners. Contact me when I can help you with these services.
